Geoplazma LLP Geological Scientific and Research Company provides scientific-production and laboratory-analytical services to subsoil users

Laboratory and core storage facilities

Geoplazma LLP has its own testing laboratory accredited for compliance with GOST ISO/IEC 17025-2009.  The testing laboratory is located in Aktobe city, provided with all required equipment and experienced and qualified personnel. Geoplazma LLP testing laboratory performs a wide range of analytical works including various types of chemical analysis, mineralogical, geochemical and petrographic studies, X-ray phase analyses, morphological analyses etc. We would be glad if you are interested in our laboratory and would be pleased to answer any of your questions.

The following are general characteristics of the activities performed:

  1. 1.Ore and Rocks Multi-element analysis by inductively coupled plasma spectrometry (ICP OES). The method is characterized by high productivity, low detection limits for a wide range of elements and, most importantly, good accuracy. The Laboratory possesses a VISTA MPX spectrometer by VARIAN, a large collection of geological standards and a wide choice of sample preparation methods.

A list of analysis elements can be extended and added by other methods for elements analysis (atomic absorption analysis AAS, X-ray fluorescence XRF, colorimetry, ionometry, ICP-MS) at the customer's option.

  1. A complete analysis of rocks, determination of separate rock components. The analysis is conducted by means of ICP-OES, X-ray fluorescence XRF, gravimetric methods and colorimetry. Deterioration of samples depending on their composition shall be performed by means of acid opening or alloying.

  2. Determination of gold in ores, rocks and solutions within the range from 0,1 ppm (by AAS method).

  3. The laboratory has an automated atomic-emission DFS-462 SPECTROMETER. The spectrometer uses an optical scheme based on concave non-classical gratings which make it possible to provide the inverse linear dispersion and high image quality required for each analytical range. The spectrometer provides simultaneous recording of two spectral bands 200-460 nm and 550-800 nm without any data gaps.

  1. The DFS spectrometer can be used for multi-element analysis of ores and their products (chromium, copper, manganese, etc.). Use of a crushed sample without acid decomposition considerably reduces analysis time and increases its efficiency.
  2. Mineralogical and petrographic studies of the rocks (structural-textural characteristics, mineral composition, delineation and description of metasomatic changes) and drilling cuttings.
The laboratory has equipment for preparation of transparent, transparent-polished and polished thin sections produced by Buehler, a wide range of optic polarization microscope, electron-probe microanalyzer produced by JEOL with the energy dispersive spectrometer, infrared spectrometer etc.

  3. Analytical electronic stereoscanning microscopy. Studying of composition, morphology of particles including morphometric analysis.

  4. Analysis of geochemical samples by means of ICP-MS, ICP-OES, XRF, AAS.

The testing laboratory has its own core grinding shop, core storage facility, samples storage facility within the territory of the laboratory. These facilities allow Geoplazma LLP to perform a full cylce of samples processing and analysis, starting from preparation of samples (grinding, milling, additional drying of wet and moisty samples, weightning etc.), following analytical studies and to storage of duplicates of samples, core and cuttings.

The construction of special rooms (core storage facility, sample storage facility) allows a representative of service company to get an access to the requested fragment of core or cuttings, ensuring a long term and reliable storage of core and drilling cuttings, various samples of rocks.
